The Yamaha TX81Z is a classic 1U rack-mounted FM synthesizer, well known for its iconic sound palette and versatility. Often considered the rack version of the DX11, this module helped define the sonic landscape of the late '80s with its distinctive 4-operator FM synthesis. One of its patches, the "Lately Bass", is among the most legendary bass sounds in synth history—featured on countless records.
